Tubelight movie

Today, I saw Tubelight movie starring Salman Khan. I had heard not so very good reviews of the film, but, I believe to judge a movie, book and person by watching, reading and understanding each one of them.

The movie's theme was based on the power of belief, just like the book "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne, at many points in the film, I felt like this is going to end, but, it didn't which is a good thing. 10 minutes before the film ended, I felt like it is going to end here and I started wondering if the director really showed us a sad ending, because you don't expect unhappy endings in bollywood movies.
They ended the movie on a good note and my mind wandered again, if really believing in something gets you to it.

Rhonda said you don't get what you want because there is doubt and fear in your heart which takes it away from you. But, then death crosses my mind, who wishes for it, yet it comes.

Also, when there was the sad part, I thought Kabir Khan wants to show us reality, that sometimes, you don't get all you want, sometimes things don't work according to you.

The fact that I liked the movie suggests that I still like happy endings. Secondly, I would still like to believe in this concept of belief, would like it to work for me.

If by any chance, Byrne, you read it, then do give the answer to my question. Also, if any of you have any views on the same issue, then do comment and don't worry about "What if other people read it?" because nobody reads this.

Walt Whitman once said "Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself; I am large I contain multitudes.

I'd like to expand my thinking.

COMPARISON AND SIMILARITIES BETWEEN THE KITE RUNNER & A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS

The Kite Runner is a story that revolves around a father-son relationship in the absence of the mother. Whereas, A Thousand Splendid Suns is a story of mother-daughter relationship in the presence of a father, but, that father who is not willing to accept them as their family in the society. Basically, the father’s presence is negligent.

The Kite Runner is written in the first person form, i.e.from the protagonist’s perspective, from Amir’s point of view. On the other hand, A Thousand Splendid Suns is narrated in the third person form, as if some spectator who has wittnessed these events is writing about them. This gives us as insight into Hosseini’s writings as well, as he reveals that the former novel has instances based upon his childhood, and therefore, it seems more personalised.

The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, both the novels, beautifully portray emotions, their arousal, dealings and their disappearance. The former novel shows Amir hiding from his past, his jealousy towards Hassan for his courage, repentance to Hassan for which Amir thinks, nothing could be enough, but Sourabh, could be one of the ways. While the latter, shows characters that are dependent mostly on the antagonist, who hope for a better future but aren’t sure if they would receive it. It shows their longing and their pain, whether, it be Mariam or Laila who hope, hope and hope.
In both the novels, the protagonists’  have just a few people to  rely upon, Amir trusts only Rahim kaka in The Kite Runner. He believes that only Rahim Khan can understand him, which is proven by Rahim Khan at many instances in the novel. At the same point of time, we see, Mariam fixing up her hopes to Jalil first, then Rasheed and eventually giving up, but, then, Laila enters and Mariam has given up hope, but, found a friend, something she hadn’t asked for consciously but yearned for unconsciously.

In the first or the debut novel, “The Kite Runner”, the concept of bastard or an illegal heir is present. This character is portrayed by Hassan, who is the son of Ali’s wife and baba’s. Similarly, in the second novel, “A Thousand Splendid Suns”, Mariam is considered as the wedlock. She is the illegitimate child of Jalil and Nana.

Both the stories in both the novels revolve around general life, they deal with monotony present in everyday lives, and, more importantly, they show reality, how expectations spoil relationships, how jealousy brings barriers, how pretentiousness exists in the society, how wars break away families, how hope is diminished and reborn, how women are treated as objects and not humans, how new relations are formed and how adversity teaches us to adapt, to change. Also, the events are influenced by the politics and policies which gives both the novels, a reality touch.

One more similarity that is observed in both the novels,  is the concept of an orphanage. In The Kite Runner, Sourabh was staying in an orphanage from where Amir picks him up and Sourabh doesn’t want to return there. Similarly, in A Thousand Splendid Suns, Laila’s first daughter, Aziza had to also spend some of  her days at the orphanage, which slightly gives us a glimpse of the dark reality that is present in there.

Both the novels have also ended up showing a lot of loss, both physically as well as mentally. A lot of characters have died towards the end, quite unexpectedly. In the first novel, Ali dies, Baba dies(death of the only parent), and soon enough, the illegitimate child, Hassan also dies. In the second novel as well, Nana dies(death of the only parent), Rasheed dies, and Mariam, the bastard also dies.

Cha.t 2017 (Changing tomorrow)

Here is an insight of what all happened at Cha.t 2017, Jaipur. The sessions began at 10:00 A.M., and the auditorium was crowded as well. This was a 2 day event, and here is a description of what all happened.

Session 1: This was a session by Sachin Pilot(congress member).
He dressed up in all white and did give a look of a politician to look up to. He said the quality of a country lies in the hands of leaders. He said that one learns the most from the people who are least like us. He further said that there are 40 parties in parliament, and so there are difficulties in his life as well. He said that confidence is the difference between generations. The conversation somehow shifted to territorial army(google it). And within the Q&A round, he gave winsome answers and also convinced a lady that we must take double pride while speaking hindi, just like Amitabh Bachchan, and that it is something to be proud of, and why go after english, anyway.

Session 2: This one was by Dhananjay who resides in Bengaluru. His is the first team from India to take part in this private teams competition, organised by google. The google lunar XPRIZE is a competition where private teams are expected to build a spacecraft. His team's name is new Indus, and since, no-one from India had took part in the competition, this fact they came to know from an OC member, who further suggested that they should. They were the 30th country to enter, and now are in the remaining 5. His speech was filled with a lot of motivation and some sarcasm. Just the right equation for balance.

Session 3: Original name Ramesh Sudama, pen name or bollywood name, Vicky Sidana.
This man was real pleasure to be onstage. He came on the stage & said that he would talk in hindi. He is a casting director(one who decides the cast of a film, screen test, look tests, etc). He asked not to get surprised about his profession as no-one knew what his job was. You can google or Bing him, he has worked with great production houses and also casted Pyaar ka Punchnama 2 actors. He talked about motivation, where he cited the example of a wet towel that he used to leave on his bed, and then, one day, he just decided to hang it on the wire. He says that he got this feeling and since then he has been hanging the towel, that's the motivation.Just like that, one day he woke up and decided to be a casting director, and hence, he became one. A lot of interesting questions were posed to him, and he responded quite frankly. He said he didn't go for acting as he knew he didn't have those looks or no-one wanted to look at that extra tummy he had. Also, he didn't want to work that hard. He gave an advice to all actors, which was to have an excellent command over hindi, act well and be fit. If you have all of these, then message him on Fb, where he is quite active and does respond. Tell him you saw him in cha.t 2017, & mention some of these above points, thank me later. Also, when asked about the role of education, he took us back to the start and said, "beta, maine kaha tha naa hindi mein baat karte hai", leaving us in splatters of laughter.

Session 4: Nitin Marani(comedian)
Hailing from Dubai with splendid looks, this guy added a spark to the event. His comedy was on point, everytime. He told us that comedy could have had origins in India as Birbal used to use a lot of comedy in Akbar's sessions. I was so much into his session that I didn't take notes, and hence I have no pointers.
But, I do remember the highlight of his performance, he started singing this song, " Naani teri morni ko morr le gaye, baaki joh bacha tha kaale chor le gaye................................................acchhi naani pyaari naani, jaldi se paisa dede, tu kanjoosi chhodd de". (Google this song)
He said that he loved moms, especially Indian moms, but, he had problems with this song. He told that in first line, we are persuading children to kidnap, in second line, there is racism for thieves, then comes the police part where there is body shaming and in the end, we are calling our Naani a miser and expecting her to give us money, amid so many problems. He ended up with this.

Session 5: Ashwini Parashar(medical student)
Much to everyone's surprise, it was not a talk on medicines and diseases, so, you can continue to read further. He started in a very dramatic manner and was about this project called SAVERAJGHAT, he took this up because he heard very disturbing stories there. Some of those instances are people didn't have clean water to drink as there are a lot of crocodiles in the water, and sometimes, they rely upon dead bodies and drink water that comes along with them. We were shocked to hear about all this. In a village, where there is no access to water, forget about electricity or anything which we "civilians" consider as needs. He approached the government for help and did a social campaign with #saverajghat and was discovered across a lot of media. The govt. said they couldn't help as the village was built in a sanctuary. Ashwini, quite disgusted by this statement, said, there was just one pucca building, in the entire village, and that was a govt. school, he further questioned the govt. on why do they consider their votes if they don't include the village, demographically.
His logic and will, forced the govt. to do improvements. He said there must be a lot of villages like this that don't even require our support. Just show them the right way. He doesn't consider himself a leader or helper. He just wanted to show those people a better way. He concluded with a story of 2 frogs, where a deaf frog was trying to get up a tree while the other one started to demotivate him, but, since, he was a deaf one, he assumed that the other one is motivating him and got on the top of it. Become the deaf frog and exit from the LKK(log kya kahenge) syndrome.

Session 6: A lady called Sukanya who had a lot of knowledge about geography and music.

Session 7: Vikas Gupta (Big boss 11)
He has been in the news for quite a lot reasons, right or wrong, you judge. He is from Dehradun, went to Delhi with girlfriend for college, did theatre there, couldn't get into acting. Then, went to Mumbai, worked with Channel V, did shows like Gumrah, got into a tiff, left them. Joined MTV, from no.4 got it to no.1, with the help of shows like Kaisi yeh yaariyan, webbed. Then, joined Zing with Pyaar tune kya kiya. Finally, has joined some production house. He believes in getting out of one's comfort zones, time and again. He believes manifestation is the secret to success.

What it is to live in 21st century

Before you make any assumptions, let me tell you it's not a pleasure and it is damn pathetic.

Why?

It is because no-one is healthy, everyone is ill either physically, mentally or emotionally.

We live in times where inventors die penniless and the faces selling those inventions earn massively.

We live in times where education is only and only said to be free. But the truth is education is a business, where the rich go on to become richer by paying exorbitant amounts and those can't pay resort to unemployment.

We live in times where people die in poverty and nobody gives food to them but this same picture of that person asking for food and dying of poverty is sold in Billions of dollars.

We live in times where it is very important to show that one is enjoying life even if they make daily attempts to kill themselves.

We live in times where people win exorbitantly after laying down resolutions for the wars, but, sadly, no-one practices those solutions.

To all the boys

Dearest boys,
No, we as girls never fall for you.
So don't boost your egos' and bring out your chests only to flaunt in front of your friends on how a girl fell for you.

Because, maybe, she never did.

Maybe, she just liked the attention, the glares, the memories, the intimacy, the way you held her, the way you smiled at her, maybe she just liked the feeling of someone loving her.

Maybe, she just liked the feeling of being in love and the things that you did which she expected.
Maybe, she only knew you, and hardly understood.

She just liked the feeling, not IN-complete YOU

Desperate

While crossing down a bunch of girls in the canteen area yesterday, I came across a girl who just asked her friend, "Tu itni desperate hai kya"?

The girl to whom the question was asked, looked down upon the floor and the other girls in the group burst into a peel of laughter.

I asked myself, 'Why is being desperate considered shameful/sinful?'
I mean ask yourself ?
Google the meaning of the word?

Aren't you desperate?
Not necessarily for sex, but desperate for that one true soulmate, desperate for that particular job, desperate for the places you've never been or desperate for the experiences you have never had.

Psychology says, "The things that we are kept away the most from, incite us the most". This the reason people do the things that they aren't allowed, could be drugs, sex, career choice, anything.

So, stay desperate and be proud of it because a lot of people are and this should not be the reason.
Stay desperate because there is no shame in being desperate or a "despo".

Ignorance is bliss

I wonder how people put the above as caption, I mean ignoring a few things can be bliss. But ignoring everything cannot be bliss. And it is not bliss, it is idiocracy. Those of you reading this, don't follow the bandwagon, use your brains and do what you feel like doing. Just because everybody believes in that doesn't mean that even you have to do it.

Another Indian who went missing in USA, now, found dead.
Yes, I am talking about Aalap Narasipura.
How many Indians tell me, how many of them will get shot, murdered or killed in the United States,
Is there an end to it? Or are they just going to increase. It's just been 5 months in 2017 and numerous cases have come to light, some might not even have.
Is working in another country so dangerous or does studying there imply no life?
Tell me, should we be scared of them more than the terrorists, or should we be scared of our government more as they will hand us over a ransom amount of money.
What shall I consider that money, a compensation or our loved one's worth.
What if that loved one required money and at that point there was no-one, but now, when he/she is not there, you are offering us money.

Shouldn't the govt. of India should be taking some actions as of course, if our government is not concerned, then, how would someone else care?

Plus, don't give up the excuse that why does one need to go and study there or work there. It is because India is filled with reservations and nepotism in every industry. One doesn't get a good salary and the college studies are beyond pathetic.

Why i don't wanna live forever

I don't wanna live forever has become my favourite song, simply because I really don't want to live forever. I don't know if you, reading this, feel the same. But, I ,gosh!!. I do feel miserable and not at times, it is an everyday thing, yes, an everyday thing. I decide every morning, that today would be great that maybe I won't be wishing for a truck to collide in me, that maybe I can really enjoy that maybe this is what happiness is.

But, let me tell you, if you are not one who has not experienced this, then you might add a few years to your life. So, I am unhappy like really unhappy, don't ask for how, why and when. I am and despite trying out variety of things, this loneliness, numb feeling and confusion prevails. Yaa, go with your mid-school thinking and consider me a bitch or attention seeker or whatever.

I simply don't get it, why do people want to live more? How are they satisfied? How do they lie to themselves?
I ask death to approach me each day but it seems like I have committed some sin, so, maybe, I will have to live longer. Sigh.

I don't wanna live because I am no longer good at my studies, I was rejected by the only guy I had placed my heart upon, I don't wanna live because everything about me sucks. I have faced a lot of rejections from writing sites, I feel like the use of social media is only going to increase and so will the comparisons from who went where to what did they wear. Okay..Fine..I am fat and have specs and am tall and not flexible and dark too. My friends call me cute, kind people they are.
