Cha.t 2017 (Changing tomorrow)

Here is an insight of what all happened at Cha.t 2017, Jaipur. The sessions began at 10:00 A.M., and the auditorium was crowded as well. This was a 2 day event, and here is a description of what all happened.

Session 1: This was a session by Sachin Pilot(congress member).
He dressed up in all white and did give a look of a politician to look up to. He said the quality of a country lies in the hands of leaders. He said that one learns the most from the people who are least like us. He further said that there are 40 parties in parliament, and so there are difficulties in his life as well. He said that confidence is the difference between generations. The conversation somehow shifted to territorial army(google it). And within the Q&A round, he gave winsome answers and also convinced a lady that we must take double pride while speaking hindi, just like Amitabh Bachchan, and that it is something to be proud of, and why go after english, anyway.

Session 2: This one was by Dhananjay who resides in Bengaluru. His is the first team from India to take part in this private teams competition, organised by google. The google lunar XPRIZE is a competition where private teams are expected to build a spacecraft. His team's name is new Indus, and since, no-one from India had took part in the competition, this fact they came to know from an OC member, who further suggested that they should. They were the 30th country to enter, and now are in the remaining 5. His speech was filled with a lot of motivation and some sarcasm. Just the right equation for balance.

Session 3: Original name Ramesh Sudama, pen name or bollywood name, Vicky Sidana.
This man was real pleasure to be onstage. He came on the stage & said that he would talk in hindi. He is a casting director(one who decides the cast of a film, screen test, look tests, etc). He asked not to get surprised about his profession as no-one knew what his job was. You can google or Bing him, he has worked with great production houses and also casted Pyaar ka Punchnama 2 actors. He talked about motivation, where he cited the example of a wet towel that he used to leave on his bed, and then, one day, he just decided to hang it on the wire. He says that he got this feeling and since then he has been hanging the towel, that's the motivation.Just like that, one day he woke up and decided to be a casting director, and hence, he became one. A lot of interesting questions were posed to him, and he responded quite frankly. He said he didn't go for acting as he knew he didn't have those looks or no-one wanted to look at that extra tummy he had. Also, he didn't want to work that hard. He gave an advice to all actors, which was to have an excellent command over hindi, act well and be fit. If you have all of these, then message him on Fb, where he is quite active and does respond. Tell him you saw him in cha.t 2017, & mention some of these above points, thank me later. Also, when asked about the role of education, he took us back to the start and said, "beta, maine kaha tha naa hindi mein baat karte hai", leaving us in splatters of laughter.

Session 4: Nitin Marani(comedian)
Hailing from Dubai with splendid looks, this guy added a spark to the event. His comedy was on point, everytime. He told us that comedy could have had origins in India as Birbal used to use a lot of comedy in Akbar's sessions. I was so much into his session that I didn't take notes, and hence I have no pointers.
But, I do remember the highlight of his performance, he started singing this song, " Naani teri morni ko morr le gaye, baaki joh bacha tha kaale chor le gaye................................................acchhi naani pyaari naani, jaldi se paisa dede, tu kanjoosi chhodd de". (Google this song)
He said that he loved moms, especially Indian moms, but, he had problems with this song. He told that in first line, we are persuading children to kidnap, in second line, there is racism for thieves, then comes the police part where there is body shaming and in the end, we are calling our Naani a miser and expecting her to give us money, amid so many problems. He ended up with this.

Session 5: Ashwini Parashar(medical student)
Much to everyone's surprise, it was not a talk on medicines and diseases, so, you can continue to read further. He started in a very dramatic manner and was about this project called SAVERAJGHAT, he took this up because he heard very disturbing stories there. Some of those instances are people didn't have clean water to drink as there are a lot of crocodiles in the water, and sometimes, they rely upon dead bodies and drink water that comes along with them. We were shocked to hear about all this. In a village, where there is no access to water, forget about electricity or anything which we "civilians" consider as needs. He approached the government for help and did a social campaign with #saverajghat and was discovered across a lot of media. The govt. said they couldn't help as the village was built in a sanctuary. Ashwini, quite disgusted by this statement, said, there was just one pucca building, in the entire village, and that was a govt. school, he further questioned the govt. on why do they consider their votes if they don't include the village, demographically.
His logic and will, forced the govt. to do improvements. He said there must be a lot of villages like this that don't even require our support. Just show them the right way. He doesn't consider himself a leader or helper. He just wanted to show those people a better way. He concluded with a story of 2 frogs, where a deaf frog was trying to get up a tree while the other one started to demotivate him, but, since, he was a deaf one, he assumed that the other one is motivating him and got on the top of it. Become the deaf frog and exit from the LKK(log kya kahenge) syndrome.

Session 6: A lady called Sukanya who had a lot of knowledge about geography and music.

Session 7: Vikas Gupta (Big boss 11)
He has been in the news for quite a lot reasons, right or wrong, you judge. He is from Dehradun, went to Delhi with girlfriend for college, did theatre there, couldn't get into acting. Then, went to Mumbai, worked with Channel V, did shows like Gumrah, got into a tiff, left them. Joined MTV, from no.4 got it to no.1, with the help of shows like Kaisi yeh yaariyan, webbed. Then, joined Zing with Pyaar tune kya kiya. Finally, has joined some production house. He believes in getting out of one's comfort zones, time and again. He believes manifestation is the secret to success.
